Saturday Free Lunch

(Every Saturday except the first Saturday of each month)

For over two decades we have been running a Free Lunch Program, offering free hot meals, packed lunches, and other sustainable items on the last two Saturdays of each month from Noon-1pm.   Hundreds of people a month not only rely on and benefit from this program, but true friendships are made during the meal's offered in our 1st floor Fellowship Hall.  We are pleased to announce that beginning in June 2010, we are adding more Saturday meals each month. We will serve our community every Saturday except the first Saturday each month!

Recogonized and awarded by the Summit County United Way, our Free Lunch Program, formerly known as the Hunger Program stands as a promise to the impoverished community that we are here and we care enough to do something to help, and as an opportunity to the more privlidged community that their gifts of time and abundance can be put to good work.  Participants that come to eat, come from all over of the community and our staff and volunteers are here to provide a glimmer of hope and a platefull of food.

As our economy contines to weaken and wane, the need for programs like our Free Lunch Program become more and more imporant every day. But we cannot do it alone!  We rely on the tallents and support of community volunteers to aid us in making every meal, every experience, and every month a succesful one!

You don't have to be a good cook or even want to work with food, we have several fun and engaging options for volunteering including food-prep, cooking, piano playing, sign-in, hosting, bagged lunch assistance, and book, tolietries, and clothing assistance.
